Mandatory Vaccination Yellow Fever

The Ministry of Health in Suriname advises travelers to Suriname to get vaccinated against Yellow Fever. Special attention is requested for travelers coming from risk areas such as African and Latin American countries. This advice also applies to travelers departing from Suriname to regional destinations.

Passengers must be in possession of the yellow booklet, the ‘International Certificate of Vaccination.’ If you cannot present this booklet during inspection, you will be denied entry into the country. Travelers must get vaccinated at least 10 days before their departure to the destination.

Visa policy

E-visa

As part of the easing of the current visa policy and to promote tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with “VFS (Visa Facilitating Service) Global,” launched the E-visa & E-tourist card website on April 15, 2019. The E-visa and E-tourist card are mandatory travel documents for tourists traveling to Suriname.

Visa Facilitating Service
This online E-visa application allows visa-required nationals and citizens of eligible countries for the tourist card to submit their applications and payments entirely electronically. The issuance of a visa or tourist card is also done electronically by sending the E-visa or E-tourist card in PDF format to the applicant’s email address.
