Local Discount

Kow Gwe is an initiative of The Torarica Group to support local residents with discounts on hotel rooms, food and beverage and wellness facilities. This program focuses on improving quality of life amid economic challenges. The discount applies to all three hotels and highlights Torarica's commitment to community connection and inclusiveness. A valid Surinamese ID or passport is required to take advantage of the offer. Discounts are not combinable with other specials or promotions.

Torarica Community Fund

The Torarica Community Fund (formerly Henk Vos Foundation) has supported social and tourism projects in Suriname since 1992. With donations from guests, the fund contributes to education, renovations and welfare initiatives, among others. Guests can easily donate through “Round Up” options or donation boxes within Torarica Group hotels. Only non-profit organizations can submit projects, provided they contribute to tourism and fit within the fund's goals. Donations to individuals, religious or political projects are excluded. Every contribution helps contribute to a better future in Suriname.

Travel to Suriname
Travelers to and from Suriname are advised to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever at least 10 days before departure. This is mandatory for travelers from high-risk areas and one must be able to show a valid vaccination certificate (the yellow booklet) upon inspection. In addition, an E-visa or E-tourist card is mandatory for travelers requiring a visa. These documents can be requested completely digitally through the official website, and are provided by VFS Global by email in pdf format.

Sustainability
Since 2019, The Torarica Group is actively committed to sustainability and is the first hotel group in Suriname with the international Green Key certification. They focus on waste separation, water and energy conservation, oil reuse, biodegradable packaging and local sourcing. With initiatives such as compostable straws, digital menus and environmentally conscious choices, Torarica inspires employees and guests alike. Green Key helps reduce the ecological footprint and contributes to future-oriented tourism that balances nature, economy and community.
